Hi everyone!
On June 17, I gave a short presentation on finding the Impact Factor for journals at the Pharmacy’s Research Council Meeting. I said I would post some of the articles and websites I mentioned on this blog, so here goes:
- To find the Impact Factor for a journal or set of journals, go to the Miner Library Homepage and click on JCR (Impact Factors) on the left side bar.
- This is the website that matches your keyword or abstract to journals that have similar words in their articles: http://biosemantics.org/jane
- This is a link to a few PubMed articles that explore the controversy about the Impact Factor: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/myncbi/collections/public/1FizMax-nSQQOKgJKW47cSL/
- This is a link to a posting on Miner’s News & Tips Blog that explains the H Index, a way to gage an individual researcher’s impact: http://minernews.wordpress.com/2010/05/03/do-you-know-your-h-index/
If there are any other links you would like me to add, please let me know!! Thanks for your attention!
